Know Your Why!
Everyone has different reasons for getting a mentor, so you should have yours. Are you doing this becomes? It seems cool to tell people you have a mentor? Or do you genuinely want to improve your life and career? To be sure about your why here are a few factors or scenarios that might have caused you to think of it:
You are either at the start of your career and not so confident about your skills and goals.

Are you a good mentee?
We get so caught up in finding suitable mentors we forget to ask ourselves if we are great mentees. Mentoring relationships are two-way channels. And for it to work, parties involved, i.e., mentor and mentee, need to be suitable for each other and be committed. Identify your personality traits and characteristics. Perform a detailed self-analysis and answer the following questions:
Are you an active listener?
Will you listen to someone and their advice sincerely?
Are you open to feedback and criticism?
Do you respect others, especially those who make time for you and offer guidance?
If your answer to these questions is YES, then you are ready to be a mentee.
